It knows where the glasses are
Six concealed capacitive sensors detect each glass. Choose automatic serving or confirm every pour with the encoder.
One purchase gives you the complete current package and future updates within the Barman V3 project.
Barman V3 detects up to six glasses, moves the pouring arm into position and serves every round with light, sound and a full-colour interface.
This is a complete DIY engineering project for makers who want the satisfaction of building the hardware without having to develop the software, interface and mechanics from scratch.
Six concealed capacitive sensors detect each glass. Choose automatic serving or confirm every pour with the encoder.
A NEMA 17 stepper and calibrated slot positions put the arm exactly where it needs to be. TMC2209 is supported for smooth, quiet movement.
The 4-inch display guides operation, calibration and settings in English, German, Polish or Italian.
RGB animations, acoustic feedback and two game modes turn the machine into the centre of the table.
From fast everyday operation to suspense-driven party games, every mode has its own screen guidance and feedback.
Choose your own colours, assemble the enclosure and calibrate each position directly on the machine. The multicolour top plate and screw-assembled arm give the latest build a clean, serviceable finish.
A real Barman V3 build moves between the detected glasses and serves the complete round while the screen and RGB lighting show every step.
STL enclosure parts, new multicolour 3MF top plate and editable STEP arm files.

UPDATED FOR V3.0.17Firmware improvements and corrected project files remain available from your purchase library.
INCLUDEDBarman V3 is intended for makers familiar with 3D printing, soldering and basic low-voltage wiring. The documentation takes you through the complete assembly and calibration process.
Connect the ESP32 by USB and use the official web installer in Chrome or Edge. Existing Barman hardware can be updated to V3.0.17 without rebuilding the machine.
Firmware V3.0.17 includes software safeguards for pump and arm operation, monitored homing, an emergency stop and diagnostic event logging.
Pressing the encoder during operation immediately switches off the pump, stops the arm, cancels the active operation and clears the task queue. Pressing it again restarts the device, followed by a new homing cycle.
The pump can start only when the arm is homed and stationary. While pouring, the firmware continuously monitors the arm position. Any detected movement immediately switches off the pump and activates the emergency STOP.
Before operation, the arm finds its zero position using the HOME limit switch. Maximum travel limits, stage timeouts, movement verification and stuck-switch detection protect against homing failures.
When Auto-Home is enabled—and always during games—the arm returns to its home position after the operation. The return is monitored by a timeout and can be interrupted at any moment with the emergency STOP.
No. This is a digital DIY project containing firmware, 3D-print files, documentation, diagrams and the bill of materials. You source and assemble the hardware.
No coding is required. The supplied web installer flashes the prepared firmware directly from a compatible desktop browser.
Yes. The update works with the existing hardware configuration. The TMC2209 driver and passive buzzer are supported upgrades rather than requirements for installing the firmware.
The device interface supports English, German, Polish and Italian, selectable directly in the settings.
No physical components are shipped. The package includes an updated BOM with links and specifications for the required parts.
